Specscart: Revolutionizing Online Eyewear Shopping

Specscart is Britain’s premier online destination for the finest spectacles frames and designer glasses. With a commitment to quality, they offer free anti-glare, anti-scratch, anti-UV, and shock-resistant glasses, all delivered safely to your doorstep. What sets Specscart apart is its focus on customer convenience and a 24-hour dispatch service with a 30-day return policy.

The Vision Behind Specscart

Specscart initially operated as an offline business but sought to expand its reach through e-commerce. TranciscoLabs developed a user-friendly website from scratch, catering to the client’s existing brand elements and local market preferences.

Operational Highlights

Specscart’s online service aims to simplify eyewear shopping for busy individuals. Customers can browse and purchase eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses for men, women, unisex, and kids with just a click. The platform provides a unique offer: the Free First Frame promotion.

How the Free First Frame Offer Works:

1. New customers register on the website, and a pop-up appears offering the Free First Frame promotion.

2. Customers can either avail or decline the offer.

3. If declined, the offer remains visible throughout the website, encouraging users to reconsider.

4. If accepted, customers are directed to a dedicated product listing page with Free First Frame offerings.

5. The selected frames are highlighted with a strikethrough price of £0 or FREE.

6. Customers proceed to checkout, selecting lenses or the Free First Frame option.

Challenges in Development

The development team faced the challenge of meeting client expectations and integrating local preferences. The website’s user experience had to align with the existing brand, color scheme, and font formats.

Insights for the Client

TranciscoLabs recommended a user-friendly approach, emphasizing that a simple purchasing method and a fast-loading website are crucial for success. The suggestion to integrate local languages was adopted to enhance the platform’s appeal.

Development Model and Information Architecture

The development followed the waterfall model, involving a dedicated team of six employees. The Magento e-commerce platform, incorporating PHP frameworks like Laminas and Symfony, was used for its flexibility and scalability. The website’s modularity allowed simultaneous work on different elements, reducing development time.

Wireframe and Tools Used

Designing utilized tools like Photoshop and Illustrator for their feature-rich capabilities. Web developers used IDEs during the development phase, ensuring the seamless transition from design to implementation.

User Testing and Results

Usability testing played a crucial role in refining the website. Fresh eyes provided feedback on the user journey, resulting in tweaks to enhance the overall experience. The results were impressive, with increased user outreach and a hassle-free online eyewear shopping experience.

Conclusion: Seamless Eyewear Shopping at Your Fingertips

Specscart’s online platform successfully blends convenience, quality, and affordability, making eyewear shopping a click away. The website’s launch has transformed the way customers perceive and purchase spectacles and designer glasses.
